MOSSLEY\u2019S green-fingered volunteers are once again showcasing their dedication as the town enters the prestigious Britain in Bloom competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A judge from the Royal Horticultural Society visited the town on Wednesday, August 20, \u00a0to assess a selection of its most cherished green spaces.<\/p>\n

\"\"The \u2018Friends of Mossley Park\u2019<\/p>\n

For several years now, Mossley Town Team, along with the Community Centre Offshoots Group and Friends of Mossley Park, have impressed the judges with their commitment, earning the coveted \u2018outstanding\u2019 award.<\/p>\n

In 2024, their work on the Secret Garden and Mossley Park picnic area drew widespread praise, with judges noting the \u2018tangible pride and community spirit\u2019 evident in every planter and flowerbed.<\/p>\n

This year brings a new addition to the roster: Andrew Street Pond, with a fresh group of volunteers helping to maintain and enhance the area.<\/p>\n

Judging covered a range of sites, including the Secret Garden at the Community Centre, outside the George Lawton Hall, Hem Place, Mossley Park picnic area, and the newly revitalised pond.<\/p>\n

The volunteers\u2019 tireless efforts, often carried out in all weathers, are supported by a host of local organisations.<\/p>\n

Mossley Litterbugs help keep areas pristine, while businesses and residents sponsor planters and hanging baskets.<\/p>\n

Funding and support from Mossley Town Council, the Rotary Club, Robertsons, and Tameside Council have been crucial in sustaining the town\u2019s ongoing improvements.<\/p>\n

While the official results of the judging will be announced later this year, the town is already a winner.<\/p>\n
