The Australian, also capable of playing in the hooker position, has signed a new two-year extension, keeping him at the Black and Whites until the end of the 2028 season.

One of several new recruits signed by John Cartwright and Richie Myler last year, Cust was already signed up for 2026, with the club moving quickly to tie the player down, who has featured well both in the halves alongside Aidan Sezer and as a hooker this season – two roles he is expected to fill next year and beyond.

The 26-year-old, who turns 27 next month, has played 23 times for Hull to date, scoring a career-best seven tries. Finding some form under Cartwright, who he worked under at NRL club Manly Sea Eagles, he is now contracted for the next three years and is the eleventh player to agree to a new deal at the club this term.

The other ten players are Lewis Martin, Harvey Barron, Davy Litten, Liam Knight, Herman Ese’ese, Denive Balmforth, Will Hutchinson, Matty Laidlaw, Will Kirby, and Joe Ward.

Speaking on his new deal, Cust said: “It’s awesome to be able to commit to the club for another two years. I was already contracted until the end of 2026 but I’m stoked that the club wanted me to stay beyond that.

“Everything around the club feels great at the minute. We’re making good progress both on and off the field and I’m really privileged to have the chance to represent this club on its mission to get back to a really strong position.

“Working under Carty again has been so good for me. It’s freed my game up massively and I feel like I’m back to playing some of my best footy, but I also feel like I’ve still got plenty more to give.”

Gareth Ellis has also stated the influence from Cartwright in getting the best out of Cust, but he too has highlighted there is more to come. The club’s Director of Rugby added: “Cade has been an excellent addition to the club in 2025 and we are delighted to have secured his services until the end of 2028.

“Not only has he been strong in his on-field performances, but he is a great character to have in the group. Having worked under Carty previously in his career, there is that understanding there between player and coach, which allows Cade to play his best brand of football, and I strongly believe there is still more to come from him.”

The Black and Whites have secured their latest bit of retention.Hull FC’s Cade Cust celebrates victory over Wakefield.…

[4102
126643,115424,4151,6531,79,16,15
0":"post-360081","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-rugby","8":"tag-cade-cust","9":"tag-hull-fc","10":"tag-rugby","11":"tag-rugby-league","12":"tag-sports","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
