Manchester’s landmark Hotel has taken a step closer in its transformation. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the hotel based in the Beetham Tower on Deansgate had been taken over by a rival hotel group amid huge transformation plans.<\/p>\n

In June, IHG Hotels and Resorts announced that they had signed up the hotel to become part of its luxury hotel group<\/a> portfolio. Now, it has unveiled its new name – The Manchester Deansgate Hotel.<\/p>\n

Spread across 23 floors, The Hilton opened amid much fanfare on Deansgate<\/a> back in 2006 and is the city’s tallest hotel.<\/p>\n

Featuring 279 guestrooms, each offering uninterrupted vistas of the Manchester skyline, the hotel features a ground-floor Podium bar and restaurant, along with wellness facilities including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and a fitness centre.<\/p>\n

It quickly became one of the city’s premier hotels<\/a>, hosting an array of celebrities and big names in its luxury rooms including its Presidential Suite, while its huge first floor ballroom has hosted glittering charity balls and celebrity events.<\/p>\n

The rebrand is accompanied by the appointment of Konstantin Grimm as General Manager – an esteemed hospitality leader with over 18 years of experience driving success across luxury hotels, including Manchester\u2019s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.<\/p>\n

This new role marks a homecoming for Konstantin, who previously served as Manager of the hotel\u2019s luxury Cloud 23 cocktail bar – renowned for its standout drinks and panoramic views of the Manchester skyline.<\/p>\n

The hotel is set to become an InterContinental by 2027, marking a significant milestone as the fifth InterContinental property in IHG Hotels & Resorts\u2019 UK and Ireland portfolio. Throughout this transition period, it will operate as The Manchester Deansgate Hotel.<\/p>\n

While a refurbishment is on the horizon, it remains business as usual for both guests and staff, with the full team staying in place and service continuing, and Cloud 23 and Podium Bar & Restaurant remaining open as usual.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Deansgate Hotel will further cement IHG Hotels & Resorts\u2019 position as the largest global hotel company in the UK and Ireland, where it currently operates 363 open hotels and has 33 in development.<\/p>\n
