Prince Philip was intensely relieved once Prince Harry and Meghan Marke\u2019s nuptials were over, a royal biographer claims.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce all the formalities were over, we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the Royal Family, filed out of the chapel,\u201d former royal butler\u00a0Grant Harrold\u00a0writes an upcoming memoir, according to an excerpt published by\u00a0The Telegraph<\/a> Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n He adds, \u201cWhen Prince Philip came out, he turned to the Queen and said, \u2018Thank f\u2013k that\u2019s over.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Harrolds book, \u201cThe Royal Butler,\u201d<\/a> hits shelves in September. Getty Images<\/p>\n The couple famously exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony in 2018 held at St George\u2019s Chapel at Windsor Castle, with both the late Queen Elizabeth \u2014 who passed away in 2022<\/a> \u2014 and the late Prince Philip, who died in 2021<\/a>, in attendance. <\/p>\n In a controversial move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would ultimately announce their intention to leave their duties as royal family members <\/a>in 2020 and move to California, where they are currently raising their children Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. <\/p>\n And while Philip reportedly did not agree with the decision, he steered clear of getting involved<\/a>.<\/p>\n Philip understood that \u201cpeople have to lead their lives<\/a> as they think best,\u201d the Sun reported in 2021, citing royal biographer Gyles Brandreth.<\/p>\n The Duke and Duchess of Sussex married in a lavish ceremony in 2018.
