Born in Iraq and living in Germany since 2001, he was known as the<br \/>\n\u201cfaceless preacher\u201d for hiding his identity in online sermons. German<br \/>\nprosecutors described him as the group\u2019s top representative in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The court rejected his argument that deportation should be blocked<br \/>\nbecause his seven children live in Germany. Judges ruled that national security<br \/>\ntook precedence, noting no credible signs of renunciation of extremism, and warning<br \/>\nof a risk of reoffending after his scheduled release in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Although the deportation order has been confirmed, a separate process<br \/>\nwill decide whether he can be sent to Iraq, where he could face the death<br \/>\npenalty. \u201cThe court is still awaiting the outcome of the asylum proceedings,<br \/>\nparticularly in view of the possible death penalty in Iraq,\u201d a spokesperson<br \/>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Abu Walaa was arrested in November 2016 with several associates and<br \/>\nlater convicted of supporting a foreign terrorist organization.
