It&#8217;s an in-person event with a wide slate of different projects from 27 countries. 30 of these are in competition for three awards. 34 of these are being featured but remain out of competition, while Best of Worlds is showcasing 23 projects created in VRChat.<\/p>\n<p>Much like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/venice-immersive-2023-impressions-interview\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2023<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/venice-immersive-2024-everything-we-saw\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2024<\/a>, we&#8217;ll be attending once more for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/venice-immersive-2025-competition\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Venice Immersive 2025<\/a>, so you can expect a full report, news stories, and individual hands-on impressions once the festival begins. So, what exactly is being shown this time around? You can find the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labiennale.org\/en\/news\/venice-immersive-selection-and-competition-announced?ref=uploadvr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full program<\/a> here for more details.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, here are seven XR projects currently at the top of our list to check out in alphabetical order.<\/p>\n<p>Alien Perspective<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755782170_826_10.jpg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1130\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Described as an exploration into never-before-seen work from acclaimed Italian special effects artist\/technician Carlo Rambaldi, Alien Perspective is co-produced by his granddaughter Cristina Rambaldi and director Jung Ah Suh. This focuses on the painting Citt\u00e0 Spaziale 2 through a fully immersive world, turning this artwork into a living environment.<\/p>\n<p>Asteroid <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/30N_SH_7K_MT_Hold_13-03ber_STILL.png\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2000\" height=\"563\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. &amp; Mrs. Smith), Asteroid is an original 180\u00b0 short film being developed for Google\u2019s Android XR platform. A high-stakes action thriller, this story sees a group of strangers risk everything by flying an old Russian Soyuz rocket to mine a near-Earth asteroid for untold wealth. This brings you into the story after you receive an SOS from NFL player DK Metcalf (played by himself), someone left for dead on the asteroid.<\/p>\n<p>Black Cats &amp; Chequered Flags<\/p>\n<p>An interactive VR and MR experience, Black Cats &amp; Chequered Flags by Elisabetta Rotolo and Siobhan McDonnell focuses on one of Formula 1&#8217;s earliest champions, Alberto Ascari. Winning both the 1952 and 1953 championships with Ferrari, this tribute to Italy&#8217;s most successful F1 driver looks back at his relationship with his father and childhood, his superstitious nature, and his rise to fame.<\/p>\n<p>Creation of the Worlds<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755782176_586_12.jpg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1089\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Directly inspired by M.K. \u010ciurlionis, Creation of the Worlds by co-directors Kristina Buo\u017eyt\u0117 and Vitalijus \u017dukas promises a poetic exploration of the famed Lithuanian artist&#8217;s works. This sees you become the caretaker of his works across evolving worlds based on over 60 of his paintings, aiming to reimagine mythic creation through a contemporary lens.<\/p>\n<p>Face Jumping<\/p>\n<p>Developed by Tender Claws, who previously released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/virtual-virtual-reality-review\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Virtual Reality<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/stranger-things-vr-review\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stranger Things VR<\/a>, Face Jumping is a short surrealist VR experience where you leap between the minds of other humans, animals, objects, and more. You swap perspectives through eye tracking detection after meeting someone else&#8217;s gaze, aiming to explore a journey of rebirth and evolution.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/face-jumping-is-a-new-surrealist-project-from-the-stranger-things-vr-studio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Face Jumping Promises Eye-Tracked Surrealism From The Stranger Things VR Studio<\/p>\n<p>Face Jumping is a surrealist new experience from the Stranger Things VR studio, where you swap perspectives with others via eye tracking.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/screenshotD.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a>Reflections of Little Red Dot<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755782179_590_0.jpg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Created by Chlo\u00e9 Lee, Reflections of Little Red Dot is a mixed reality experience that explores time, memory, diaspora, and place in Singapore through \u201cintimate conversations\u201d and personal stories. Using archival footage throughout this 3D environment, this experience explores how rapid urban development has affected Singaporean communities.<\/p>\n<p>Sense of Nowhere<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/661b0332a0c10.jpeg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Created by Hsin-Hsuan Yeh, Sense of Nowhere is an interactive journey with multiple inspirations like the Way of Taoism, the Illusion of Buddhism, and Jung\u2019s practice of Active Imagination.
