A man is fighting for life after being hit by a train. Emergency services were called to Green Lane train station in Birkenhead<\/a> at around 11am on Thursday, August 21 following reports of a casualty on the tracks<\/a>.<\/p>\n Paramedics attended the scene, and a man was taken to hospital <\/a>with injuries that are still being assessed, British Transport Police said. A spokesperson for the force said the man’s injuries are considered to be life threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.<\/p>\n Train services were suspended on the Wirral<\/a> line, impacting the Chester, Ellesmere Port, West Kirby<\/a> and New Brighton<\/a> lines. Emergency services have now completed their work<\/a> at the scene.<\/p>\n National Rail said this has allowed all lines through Hamilton Square to reopen. However while service recovers, trains may still be severely delayed by up to 20 minutes, revised or cancelled.<\/p>\n Rail Replacement buses were in operation between Hamilton Square and Rock Ferry.
