Opening a permanent unit on Great Ancoats Street in 2024, where the team recently celebrated one year, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/maricarmen-tapas-manchester\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/maricarmen-tapas-manchester\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Maricarmen<\/a> is set to open a second restaurant within the <strong>former 63 Degree site<\/strong> in the Northern Quarter next month. Unique to Manchester, each <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/tapas-restaurants-in-manchester\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/tapas-restaurants-in-manchester\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">tapas<\/a> dish from the El Tableo service is priced at \u00a33.50 \u2014 <strong>inspired by Marian and Jose\u2019s summers in Costa Blanca<\/strong>, where their family lives and where they first experienced this authentic Southern Spanish way of tapas service.<\/p>\n<p>Guests simply select the dishes they want to try and at the end of the meal, the tapas plates are counted which equates to the total bill. Maricarmen\u2019s El Tableo menu features the likes of <strong>patatas bravas<\/strong>,<strong> red wine meatballs<\/strong>, a selection of <strong>Pintxos<\/strong> including marinated pork with mojo picon, steak with salsa verde, variations of <strong>croquetas<\/strong> and everyone\u2019s favourite, <strong>gambas al ajillo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-73398\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"maricarmen kitchen tapas being prepared croquettes giveaway\" width=\"1200\" height=\"815\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/tapas-maricarmen-kitchen.jpeg\"\/>Credit: Supplied\/Maricarmen Maricarmen takes to the Northern Quarter <\/p>\n<p>The new restaurant, which will open within the first week of September in the <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/best-things-to-do-in-northern-quarter\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/best-things-to-do-in-northern-quarter\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_4\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Northern Quarter<\/a>, will <strong>continue to operate Maricarmen\u2019s unique El Tableo service<\/strong> on the ground floor of the restaurant. Plus, on the second, top floor, that will open before the end of the year, will be an<strong> exciting service concept to be confirmed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The High Street location will differ from the original venue on Great Ancoats Street which was inspired by the bustling streets of Madrid\u2019s nightlife. Instead it will take inspiration from<strong> the sunny beaches of Alicante<\/strong>, featuring light interiors and colours from the coast to create beach house vibes.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75973\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"paella at maricarmen\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1500\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/maricarmen-paella.jpg\"\/>Credit: Maricarmen <\/p>\n<p>A<strong> large al fresco dining area<\/strong> will also be available at the Maricarmen Northern Quarter restaurant, both outside on Edge Street and just in front of the old Fish Market walls in High Street, which will also allow customers to enjoy the delights of Maricarmen in the Manchester sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to El Tableo, Maricarmen specials including <strong>Paella<\/strong>, <strong>tortilla Carbonara<\/strong> and <strong>Cachopo<\/strong> (delicacy from the Spanish region of Asturias consisting of veal or beef steaks filled with cheese and slices of Iberico ham) will also be available at the Northern Quarter restaurant. Left with massive debts and both unable to find jobs, close friends, Stefano and Rosangela, offered Marian and Jose a <strong>place to live and call home in Manchester<\/strong> \u2013 and so Maricarmen was born alongside dear friend Andres Vielma.<\/p>\n<p>Marian Diaz added: \u201cTo us, Manchester signifies the ability to reinvent and grow.
