will launch rolling strike action over pay, conditions and broken agreements on London Underground"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tube union RMT, today announced rolling strike action across the network beginning on Friday 5th September for seven days, with different grades taking industrial action at differing times.   <\/p>\n<p>\n The strikes come after management refused to engage seriously with union demands on pay, fatigue management, extreme shift patterns and a reduction in the working week, as well as failing to honour previous agreements made with staff.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n RMT says that management\u2019s dismissive approach has fuelled widespread anger and distrust among the workforce, who voted in overwhelming numbers to take strike action. \u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n In a separate dispute over pay and conditions, workers on the Docklands Light Railway will also be striking during this period in the week beginning the 7 September, bringing significant disruption to the capital\u2019s transport network.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n RMT General Secretary Eddie Dempsey said: \u201cOur members are doing a fantastic job to keep our capital moving and work strenuous shift patterns to make sure Londoners get to their destinations around the clock. \u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;They are not after a King&#8217;s ransom, but fatigue and extreme shift rotations are serious issues impacting on our members health and wellbeing- all of which have not been adequately addressed for years by LU management.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;Coupled with the fact there are outstanding issues around staff travel arrangements, an atmosphere of distrust has been created, where our members feel like no one is listening to them.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;RMT will continue to engage LU management with a view to seeking a revised offer in order to reach a negotiated settlement.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n Controllers, London Underground Control Centre, Power\/Control and ERU members will strike between 0001 and 2359 on Sunday 7th September\n  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul data-editing-info=\"{\">\n<li>\n<p>\n   All Fleet (Except Engineering Vehicles Operations and Maintenance ( formerly known as transplant) and ERU), Engineering, Stations and Trains members will strike
