When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed their Netflix contract in 2020, it was Prince Harry who was seen as the trump card behind the global streaming platform\u2019s decision to back the couple. Five years later, and the worldview has changed.<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s Meghan who hold all the right cards, after her lifestyle show \u2018With Love, Meghan\u2019 far outpaced Harry\u2019s best efforts: \u2018Invictus\u2019 and \u2018Polo.\u2019<\/p>\n

Though if you ask me, perhaps Netflix is eyeing the rights to that bestselling book of his called \u2018Spare.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n

Royal Expert Says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle\u2019s New Programming Dynamic Works For Them <\/p>\n

After months of speculation regarding whether Netflix would renew their contract with the Sussexes, or not, the news broke earlier this month that Netflix has indeed signed a new multi-year contract with the duo. A lesser one than the original, but it still comes with loads of cash.<\/p>\n

The thing is, Prince Harry\u2019s no longer the star of the show, Meghan is.<\/p>\n

Speaking on this, Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror:<\/a> \u201cIt seems clear that this deal is very much Meghan\u2018s project. It seems he may have played some part in the production of a documentary about an Ugandan orphanage, but it is Meghan who will be on screen presenting her lifestyle shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of how the new setting would affect the couple\u2019s dynamic, Bond added: \u201cI think this underlines that the couple has decided that Meghan is really the TV personality, and Harry is more comfortable continuing his charity work. And I think that\u2019s the right balance for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

At present, Meghan has two programs lined up for Netflix. The second season of her lifestyle show, \u2018With Love, Meghan\u2019 \u2013 out this August 26 \u2013 and a Christmas special hailed to bring the holiday cheer to families around the world.<\/a><\/p>\n

Per the announcement, the Christmas special will feature \u201cfriends and family\u201d as they \u201cdeck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs \u2013 with simple how-tos to follow at home.\u201d Meghan will be at the heart of the program, bringing her signature lifestyle flourishes to make it that much more magical.<\/p>\n
