MAEL de Gevigney is \u2018very very close\u2019 to returning to the Barnsley squad for their tip to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. <\/p>\n
The French defender has missed the last three games with a sprained ankle.<\/p>\n
Head coach Conor Hourihane said: \u201cMael is very, very close. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe will monitor him over the next couple of days.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hoping he will be involved in some capacity.<\/p>\n
\u201cTuesday was just too soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
De Gevigney\u2019s fellow centre-back Marc Roberts is out long-term as are left-back Georgie Gent and winger Fabio Jalo. <\/p>\n
De Gevigney has been used at right-back and centre-back this season.<\/p>\n
Jack Shepherd and Josh Earl have played in central defence recently with either Jono Bland or Tennai Watson at right-back. <\/p>\n
