On Thursday, August 21, Camilla, 78, attended the second day of the Ebor Festival at York Racecourse, where she serves as patron. She looked radiant in a floral Fiona Clare dress, layered under a pale blue belted Anna Valentine coat and paired with nude pumps and a chic fedora-style hat with bow detailing in the back.<\/p>\n

For jewelry, she kept it classic with her signature three-strand pearl necklace featuring a statement diamond clasp and matching earrings. But let\u2019s talk about that brooch.<\/p>\n

Queen Camilla added a meaningful touch with the Minoru brooch, a piece designed in a horseshoe shape and adorned with sapphires and rubies that spell out \u201cMinoru,\u201d making it the perfect choice for a day at the races.<\/p>\n

The brooch carries major historical weight, which explains why Camilla has reached for it at past equestrian events. According to The Court Jeweller<\/a>, its design dates back to the early 20th century during the reign of King Edward VII.<\/p>\n

Back then, Minoru wasn\u2019t just a brooch, it was a real racehorse. In fact, he was one of King Edward VII\u2019s prized Thoroughbreds and widely considered one of the best of his time. The king was so taken with the horse (and his winning streak), he had jewelry made to celebrate both Minoru and his jockey, Danny Maher.<\/p>\n
