Plas Glynllifon, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/north-wales\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"located near Caernarfon, Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">located near Caernarfon, <\/a>was constructed between 1830 and 1840 by Lord Newborough and famously hosted the investiture ball of The Prince of Wales, now King Charles III in 1969.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However, in recent years the<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/property\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" property has lain empty.Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> property has lain empty.<\/a> The Grade I listed mansion was sold at the end of 2020 after entering receivership, following a failed attempt by Paul and Rowena Williams to transform it into a luxury hotel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/property\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"The property Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">The property <\/a>was purchased by Manchester developer David Savage, whose companies also acquired the Seiont Manor hotel in Llanrug.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He expressed his intention to raise funds through other investments to undertake the multi-million pound renovation work required <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/north-wales\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"at Glynllifon.Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">at Glynllifon.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However, plans to develop Seiont &#8211; which has been closed since 2020 &#8211; have been thwarted by planning refusals from Cyngor Gwynedd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Last year,<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/property\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" Plas Glynllifon was listed for sale Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Plas Glynllifon was listed for sale <\/a>with Sidney Phillips for \u00a32m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The mansion boasts 40 bedrooms, reports <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/news\/north-wales-news\/famous-north-wales-mansion-house-32322885\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">North Wales Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">According to the estate agent&#8217;s website, the house is now under offer from a potential buyer. No further details have been disclosed at this point.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Regarding the mansion, the estate agent stated: &#8220;The mansion is located within Plas Glynllifon Country Park which is situated on the A499 between Pwllheli and Caernarfon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1_dpw070225gluyn_07.jpg\" alt=\"Plas Glynllifon mansion near Caernarfon \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Plas Glynllifon mansion near Caernarfon (Image: Dafydd Hardy)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The park, owned by Gwynedd Council, is the perfect place to enjoy gardens, wildlife and history; it features an onsite cafe, boutique shops and play areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The mansion dates back to the 1830s and is Grade I listed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It once belonged to Lord Newborough.
