Meghan Markle’s most well-known acting role is Rachel Zane in Suits<\/a>, but her Hollywood career actually started years before this.<\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex, who ended up giving up acting when she married Prince Harry<\/a>, had a handful of small TV roles when she first started out – including an appearance on General Hospital. However, these were small fry compared to when she was given the chance to star alongside Ashton Kutcher.<\/p>\n

Meghan had recently graduated and was back home in Los Angeles when the chance to audition for A Lot Like Love came up<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Royal biographer Sean Smith wrote in his book Meghan Misunderstood that the audition ended up being “like a scene from a satire on Hollywood.”<\/p>\n

He explained, “From Meghan’s point of view, the important consideration was that she did not give up.”<\/p>\n

Despite Meghan getting a smaller role than she had wanted, Smith said there was one “small consolidation” as her character ended up saying a few more words than just “Hi.”<\/p>\n

He explained, “She sits beside Ashton on a plane and says ‘Hi,’ but then has a brief exchange with the passenger sitting across the gangway and tells him her name is Natalie.”<\/p>\n

At the time, A Lot Like Love drew a lot of fans thanks to Ashton Kutcher’s starring role.
