Lennox Lewis<\/a> remains a true boxing legend.<\/p>\n

Until Usyk came along and won all four of the major titles last year, Lewis was the last heavyweight to be undisputed champion all the way back in 1999.<\/p>\n

Even before he turned professional, he picked up a gold medal in the 1988 Olympics, and after turning over he famously beat every man he faced, including the likes of Evander Holyfield<\/a>, Mike Tyson, Frank Bruno and Vitali Klitschko.<\/p>\n

However, along the way he had two huge upset knockout losses to Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahma<\/a>n, though he avenged both of those with knockout wins of his own in the rematch.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Joe Rogan podcast<\/a>, Lewis was asked about the win he enjoyed the most, and he went with one of those rematches.<\/p>\n

He then explained why.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat really bothered me is I gave him an opportunity, I gave him a fight when I\u2019m basically waiting for Tyson and I have to keep busy. I\u2019m looking down the list of who to fight and he\u2019s seven, he\u2019s durable and not one of these guys who gets knocked out easily.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to give my fans a proper fight, box the best guy out there not fight a guy that easy to know out, I don\u2019t want to go round in two rounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The victory meant Lewis won back the WBC, IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles and he fought just twice more, adding The Ring title to his collection before hanging up his gloves for good in June 2003.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lennox Lewis remains a true boxing legend.
