{"id":364985,"date":"2025-08-22T15:51:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T15:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/364985\/"},"modified":"2025-08-22T15:51:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T15:51:15","slug":"apple-code-suggests-m5-hardware-refresh-of-vision-pro-could-come-later-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/364985\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Code Suggests M5 Hardware Refresh of Vision Pro Could Come Later This Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Code shared by Apple and discovered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/08\/13\/apple-code-confirms-vision-pro-with-m5-chip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MacRumors<\/a>\u00a0has seemingly confirmed that Vision Pro isn\u2019t getting a massive overhaul in its next generation, instead pointing to a hardware refresh that will feature Apple\u2019s upcoming M5 chipset.<\/p>\n<p>This follows previous reports from last year, including those from independent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman, that suggested Apple was getting some\u00a0flavor of Apple\u2019s M-chip in its next release;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/report-apple-delays-cheaper-vision-pro-2027-m5-refresh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Kuo reported it was M5<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/apple-rethinks-vision-pro-meta-orion-ar-glasses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Gurman reported M4<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally,\u00a0MacRumors reports that the\u00a0refreshed Vision Pro \u201cisn\u2019t expected to feature any design changes or hardware updates aside from the new chip,\u201d although it could feature a new, more comfortable head strap.<\/p>\n<p>Considering Vision Pro might include the company\u2019s flagship mobile chipset, we probably shouldn\u2019t expect it to be any cheaper than the original, which went on sale in February 2024 for $3,500, and included its older M2 chipset, which was released in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/vision-pro-controller.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden size-full wp-image-123965\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/vision-pro-controller.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"  \/><\/a>Vision Pro officially supporting PSVR 2 Sense Controllers | Image courtesy Nathie<\/p>\n<p>Notably, in Kuo\u2019s report from late 2024, he suggested a cheaper version of Vision Pro was delayed \u201cbeyond 2027\u201d, which conflicted with an earlier\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/report-apple-affordable-vision-pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report from\u00a0The Information<\/a>\u00a0in mid-2024 that alleged Apple was on track to release something more affordable first,\u00a0and then\u00a0release a more powerful Vision Pro 2 at a later point.<\/p>\n<p>And while releasing an M5 refresh of Vision Pro could be seen as \u2018kicking the can down the road\u2019 somewhat,\u00a0having Apple\u2019s latest and greatest chipset may be a bigger deal than might think.<\/p>\n<p>Besides better overall performance, M5 would effectively be the most powerful standalone headset to date. It would allow XR developers to not only port previous controller-focused games to the headset, thanks to official support for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/vision-pro-psvr-2-controller-logitech-muse-visionos-26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sony\u2019s PSVR 2 Sense controller<\/a>, but also develop even more visually rich XR games and apps for the device.<\/p>\n<p>It also effectively aligns Vision Pro with Apple\u2019s core products for the first time.
