{"id":365564,"date":"2025-08-22T21:00:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T21:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/365564\/"},"modified":"2025-08-22T21:00:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T21:00:16","slug":"why-we-may-never-see-william-and-harry-as-a-united-family-in-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/365564\/","title":{"rendered":"Why We May Never See William and Harry as a &#8220;United Family&#8221; in Public"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>The former butler of King Charles is shedding new light on the current status Prince William and Prince Harry&#8217;s royal rift.<\/li>\n<li>In an interview with The Mirror, Grant Harrold warned that &#8220;we may never see them as a united family in public.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Harrold served the royal household for over six years and recently authored a book about his experience titled The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/prince-william-kate-middleton-harry-meghan-truce-royal-kids-8641891\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince William<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/unexpected-royal-defends-prince-harry-11775908\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a> have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/prince-harry-and-prince-williams-rift-timeline-8668239\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">feuding<\/a> for the better part of five years, and, according to the former butler of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/king-charles-door-open-prince-harry-reconciliation-8715844\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles<\/a>, there may be little hope that the two will ever reconcile. Grant Harrold\u00a0served the royal household for over six years and is the newly minted author of The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service, which drops on August 28.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;Things are such a mess right now,&#8221; Harrold told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/royals\/i-knew-prince-william-kate-35772464\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Mirror<\/a> with regard to the two brothers. &#8220;I think we have to accept that there is a real possibility that we may never see them as a united family in public.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Prince William and Prince Harry carrying the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Getty Images<\/p>\n<p> Prince William and Prince Harry at &#8216;The City Salute&#8217; at St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Getty Images<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The former butler noted that William and Harry were &#8220;inseparable&#8221; following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/princess-diana-william-harry-important-warnings-11791987\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Diana&#8217;s death<\/a>, so much so that he would have &#8220;bet \u00a3100&#8221; that they would never have a falling out.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> \u201cAnd when all the conflict really started, I was asking myself \u2018Why has this all gone so badly wrong?\u2019 I couldn\u2018t wrap my head around it,&#8221; Harrold recalled. &#8220;Now they\u2019re not even speaking to each other, and they used to speak all the time. It\u2019s really sad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> William and Harry&#8217;s royal rift became public knowledge in late 2019, when the Duke of Sussex confirmed that &#8220;stuff&#8221; had happened between him and his brother. &#8220;We\u2019re certainly on different paths at the moment, but I\u2019ll always be there for him, as I know he\u2019ll always be there for me,&#8221; he told <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/itvnews\/status\/1186028606557958145\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\">ITV News<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The chasm widened after Harry and his wife, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/meghan-markle-prince-harry-relationship-timeline-7966301\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/prince-harry-meghan-markle-exit-from-royal-family-timeline-11696946\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stepped down from senior royal duties<\/a> in early 2020. The brothers have scarcely seen each other since then.\n<\/p>\n<p> Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Getty Images<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> As for Harrold, he believes some kind of reconciliation is still possible, albeit only in private. &#8220;I don\u2019t see Harry and Meghan ever on the Palace balcony for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/evolution-of-trooping-the-colour-8663112\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trooping the Color<\/a> for example, but I can see the family patching things up behind closed doors and working towards the King seeing his grandchildren,&#8221; he told The Mirror. &#8220;I think that&#8217;s what they&#8217;re trying to work towards.
