France international Andy Diouf<\/a> will wear the Number 17 shirt for Inter<\/a> and assured he \u2018didn\u2019t think twice\u2019 when asked to join them from RC Lens<\/a>. \u2018It\u2019s an honour to be here.\u2019<\/p>\n

The midfielder completed his medical tests<\/a> and transfer today in a deal believed to be worth \u20ac20m plus up to \u20ac5m in add-ons.<\/a><\/p>\n

He admits the negotiations progressed very rapidly, not just between the two clubs, but also when working out personal terms.<\/p>\n

Diouf rushed to complete Inter<\/a> transfer\"Article<\/p>\n

\u201cInter is a club with a rich history. As soon as I heard the news, I didn\u2019t think twice: there was no doubt for me about choosing this Club, it\u2019s an honour to be here. Being an Inter<\/a> player means a lot, I\u2019m very proud and I can\u2019t wait to step onto the pitch at San Siro,\u201d Diouf told Inter Channel.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Nerazzurri<\/a> had previously approached Roma for Manu Kon\u00e9, but when their reported \u20ac40m proposal was rebuffed, they turned to another France<\/a> international.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to play with the ball at my feet, I play with personality, and I enjoy technical moves and showing what I can do with the ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inter had not been expected to go for another midfielder this summer, but it reflects the change of tactics now that Cristian Chivu has taken over from Simone Inzaghi.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there are players with great experience in the dressing room. I want to learn by being with them, to grow together with the whole team,\u201d continued Diouf.<\/p>\n

There is a growing French contingent at San Siro, including Marcus Thuram, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Benjamin Pavard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad there are several French players here. I know Ange-Yoan well because we played together for the national side, and he spoke very highly of the Club. For sure, it helps to come into a team where you already know some of your teammates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I can put my qualities to the team\u2019s use, taking the time I need to adapt to the style of the league, the team, and my teammates. Having a coach who has played here at the highest level will definitely be an advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diouf could well make his Inter<\/a> debut on Monday, when the team host Torino at San Siro.<\/p>\n
