Grants to scientists and engineers at Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) for research support and professional development. Priority consideration will be for research projects envisioning new insights into existing problems with cutting-edge methodology, or utilizing expertise from other fields to identify new problems.<\/p>\n

3. Research for the Commercialization of Technologies!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Grants to small businesses for collaborative research to determine the feasibility of commercializing technologies. Applicants will work with an eligible research institution.<\/p>\n

4. Address the Negative Effects of Mining!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Up to $4,000 to grassroots groups, tribes, First Nation, and organizations to mitigate the negative impact of mining. Priority consideration will be for projects to protect ecosystems, the environment, community health, and cultural resources from the negative consequences of mining. This includes projects requiring scientific, legal, or technical expertise.<\/p>\n

5. Creative Branding and Marketing Services!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

In-kind grants to nonprofit, educational, and service organizations, and to government agencies to enhance communications and brand value. The goal of the program is to help organizations strengthen their marketing and branding through brand development, marketing strategies, website design, and other creative services.<\/p>\n

6. Promote STEM Careers for Minority Groups!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Grants to IHEs to expand and diversify the research workforce. The funding is to increase the number of historically underrepresented minority faculty in STEM research projects. The program will contribute to the Foundation\u2019s objective to foster growth of a more capable and diverse research workforce. <\/p>\n

7. PreK Computer Science Education and Research!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Grants to nonprofits, IHEs, museums, research laboratories, professional societies, and Tribes to promote computer science (CS) and computational thinking (CT) educational opportunities for PreK-12 students. The funding supports researcher-practitioner collaborations for a deeper understanding and provides opportunities for all students to participate in formal CS and CT STEM learning at elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. <\/p>\n

8. Support the Creation of Online Games<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Grants of up to $50,000 to USA, Canada, and International businesses to support the creation of online games.\u00a0Applicants will submit information about their game and users will vote for their favorite. The winner of each monthly voting period will be eligible to receive the funding.<\/p>\n
