The study by Pepper Money\u00a0took into account\u00a0average house prices (to buy and to rent), travel time, public transport cost and quality of life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Woking<\/strong>, the Surrey town southwest of London has been crowned as the city\u2019s best commuter town, beating the likes of Guildford, St Albans, Luton, Slough and Reading.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the study, Woking struck the best balance between location and value. With the average house price of \u00a3460,000 and average rent of \u00a31,648, Woking was more affordable than other locations like\u00a0St Albans (average house price: \u00a3628,000) or Guildford (\u00a3543,000).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/surrey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Surrey<\/a> town had a commute time of\u00a029 minutes, with a rail cost of\u00a0\u00a321.30. The area also has an up-and-coming cultural scene, with places like the Lightbox Gallery and New Victoria Theatre helping to attract more arty and creative people to the area.
