Iran has slammed the United Kingdom\u2019s imposition of fresh sanctions, describing the move as \u201cfundamentally unacceptable\u201d and a violation of international norms.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London condemned the British government\u2019s decision to sanction one Iranian individual and four entities. The embassy dismissed London\u2019s justification\u2014that the targets were \u201cfacilitating Tehran’s cross-border activities\u201d\u2014as a baseless pretext built on groundless accusations.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasized that such actions run counter to the principles of international law and the UN Charter governing friendly relations between states, harming bilateral ties and deepening distrust. \u201cIran has always emphasized dialogue and mutual respect,\u201d the embassy stated, firmly rejecting the British allegations. \u201cIt has never designed or supported any threat to the internal security of the United Kingdom, nor has it taken any action in this regard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shifting focus to the region, the embassy identified Israel as the primary source of instability, given that it’s complicit of international crimes including aggression, genocide, and crimes against humanity. It expressed astonishment that Western nations remain indifferent to international outcry against a \u201cchild-killing regime\u201d and take no meaningful steps to halt its actions.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming its commitment to mutual respect and non-interference, the embassy also urged Britain to abandon its \u201chostile policies and illegal and destructive actions.\u201d<\/p>\n
