Eberechi Eze is set to miss Arsenal’s Premier League showdown with Leeds United, according to reports. The 27-year-old underwent a medical on Friday morning ahead of his anticipated \u00a360million plus \u00a37.5m in add-ons move to the Gunners.<\/p>\n

Arsenal<\/a> swooped in to snatch Eze from under Tottenham<\/a>‘s nose after Thomas Frank’s side had laid the groundwork for his signing. His transfer to the Emirates will mark the club’s seventh summer acquisition.<\/p>\n

However, having sat out Palace’s Conference League victory over Fredrikstad on Thursday night, Eze is likely to be sidelined for his new team’s weekend match against Leeds. Ben Jacobs reports that the England international won’t feature as the deal wasn’t finalised before the midday deadline.<\/p>\n

Premier League regulations stipulate that new signings must be registered by their new clubs on the last working day before their next match at 12pm. Jacobs also suggests that Arsenal<\/a> never intended to complete the deal in time for the deadline.<\/p>\n

When quizzed about the potential signing of Eze on Friday, Mikel Arteta<\/a> remained coy. “Nothing to comment you know I can never talk about a player that’s not part of our group or club yet,” he told reporters.<\/p>\n

Arteta remained unmoved when questioned about Oliver Glasner and Steve Parish’s remarks. Nevertheless, he seemed to acknowledge that developments were afoot by stating the player was not an Arsenal<\/a> squad member ‘yet’.<\/p>\n
