A Midlands town has been named second in the entire country for an underrated day out.<\/p>\n

Whether it’s a trip with the family, or a visit for a couple or friends, there’s plenty to enjoy in Leamington Spa.<\/p>\n

That’s according to experts, who analysed towns across the country which may not always get the attention they deserve.<\/p>\n

They may also get overshadowed by bigger cities nearby.<\/p>\n

And that can be the case with Leamington, just 35 minutes from Birmingham<\/a> by train and around a 55-minute drive.<\/p>\n

The Warwickshire<\/a> town was placed second on a list of most underrated places to visit in the country, behind only Hastings.<\/p>\n

Leamington scored high in terms of cultural landmarks, with 96% having a four-star rating or above.<\/p>\n

While the number of top restaurants, independent shops and music events makes it an ideal place to visit.<\/p>\n

It was placed second on the national list following research by Betway.<\/p>\n

They said: “Royal Leamington Spa secures second place thanks to its standout cultural landmarks (96% rated four stars or above), such as the Royal Pump Room, and quality food scene (79% of restaurants rated four stars or above).<\/p>\n

“With an average summer temperature of 16.3C and 33 music events on the calendar, it offers the perfect mix of culture, cuisine, and entertainment.”<\/p>\n

Another Midlands town also made the list, with Shrewsbury getting recognition in third place.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said: “Shrewsbury in the West Midlands comes in third place with 84% of its landmarks rated over four stars, including gems like Shrewsbury Castle and historic abbeys, and a lively arts scene with 46 upcoming music events.<\/p>\n
