\u2018Preemark\u2019 signs and window displays are now present in all 21 of the stores across the country, acknowledging how many Scots pronounce \u2018Pr-EE-mark\u2019. The campaign was inspired by a viral social media debate earlier this year. As a result, Glasgow stores on Argyle Street and Hamilton have been rebranded as \u2018Preemark\u2019.<\/p>\n

The new signs and displays appeared on Thursday, August 21<\/strong>, and shoppers can enjoy the humorous nod to all of us in every store until Sunday, August 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The debate on how to pronounce Primark has been around for ages, and the \u201ccorrect\u201d way to pronounce it is, apparently, Pr-eye-mark, but most of us here in Glasgow will just stick to \u2018Preemark\u2019.<\/p>\n

Gavin O\u2019Reilly, Area Manager for Primark Scotland West and Cumbria, <\/b>who currently oversees Primark\u2019s first store in Hamilton, Scotland, said: \u201cOur loyal Scottish shoppers have been instrumental to our success over the last 50 years, so we thought it was high time we acknowledged it in true Primark style. It\u2019s a proud moment for all our stores to be celebrating our milestone together with a fun \u2018Preemark\u2019 nod, which is simply what we know our Scottish shoppers and colleagues are calling us every day anyway!\u201d<\/p>\n

Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, said:<\/b> \u201cThe high streets and fashions have changed a lot over five decades in Scotland, and Primark has been there every step of the way. As we\u2019ve evolved to meet this change in demand, our commitment to offering people great quality clothing at affordable prices is stronger than ever. There is such pride in our stores in Scotland and our customers feel it too, so it\u2019s fantastic to be celebrating such an important milestone together.
