Lionel Richie<\/a> has become the latest Hollywood star to become the victim of a wave of burglaries sweeping Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unlike several recent high-profile burglaries that took place when the A-list stars were not home<\/a>, Richie was reportedly in his house when a burglar broke in.<\/p>\n

Police received a call about a burglary at the 76-year-old singer’s home in Beverly Hills shortly after midnight, the Beverly Hills Police Department told TMZ<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Luckily, Richie’s home was equipped with a security alarm that deterred the burglar, who reportedly fled before they had a chance to steel any of Richie’s valuables.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail has contacted Richie’s representative for comment but hasn’t yet received a response.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police responding to the call reportedly arrested a man named\u00a0Michael John Bond on\u00a0suspicion of residential burglary.<\/p>\n

Richie joins a growing list of A-listers who have had their homes in LA broken into, including Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Anthony Anderson, Teddi Mellencamp and more; Pitt pictured in June in London<\/p>\n

However, formal charges have reportedly not yet been filed against the suspected burglar.<\/p>\n

Police said that their investigation into the break-in continues, and detectives investigating the crime are currently poring over security cam footage from Richie’s property, among other evidence obtained from the scene.<\/p>\n

The burglary at Richie’s home comes in the wake of another high-profile break-in at the home of Brad Pitt in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood in late June.<\/p>\n

Burglars appear to have timed their crime to when Pitt was out of town and on a trip to Japan to promote his racing drama F1, which was a hit with critics and at the box office.<\/p>\n

Last week, police announced a major development in the investigation with the arrest of three people<\/a>\u00a0suspected of burglarizing the actor’s home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police appear to have caught the trio of alleged thieves after they were allegedly linked to another burglary.<\/p>\n

Detectives were reportedly able to use security footage taken from Pitt’s property to help identify the men.<\/p>\n

However, police told NBC LA<\/a> that the suspected burglars didn’t appear to be specifically targeting famous people.<\/p>\n

In February, a burglar smashed a window to enter Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s home while they were away. However, an employee scared the burglar away; seen May 18 in Cannes, France<\/p>\n

Pitt was subsequently reported to have listed the home that was broken into.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Late last month, Teddi Mellencamp became the victim of an attempted burglary.<\/a><\/p>\n

The former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star revealed that a security alarm \u2014 installed by her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave’s security company \u2014 had scared the thieves away.<\/p>\n

Shortly after revealing that she had been targeted, Mellencamp posted chilling security camera footage<\/a>\u00a0showing a group of men climbing over a fence and going around the side of her house in an attempt to gain entrance, before frantically running away once the security system began blaring.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In February of this year, Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban joined the long list of A-listers who have been targeted by burglars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The couple’s Beverly Hills mansion \u2014 which they purchased for $4.7 million in 2008 \u2014 was broken into while they were out of town.<\/p>\n

An intruder reportedly smashed a window to gain entrance, but an employee of the couple was on the property at the time and was able to successfully scare away the burglar.\u00a0<\/p>\n
