Her own beliefs about love were very contrary to what society pushed on her. She\u2019s a very confident woman who knew what she wanted, in her career and her life, and she wasn\u2019t willing to let other people sway her away from that,\u201d Aradom said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/wos-ms.-irby.jpg\" class=\"mx-auto align-none\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                                                                                                            <strong>Meredith Irby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy favorite book this summer was called \u201cThe Ministry of Time,\u201d by Kaliane Bradley,\u201d BHS Librarian Meredith Irby said. The novel follows a woman that works for the Ministry of Time, a mysterious and newly established organization. \u201cIt\u2019s incredible. It\u2019s like a time travel romance. It\u2019s also like a spy thriller and like a workplace comedy in some ways, too. It\u2019s so well done, so compelling, and I learned a lot about history. Awesome. And I read it in, like, a day. I can recommend it,\u201d Irby said.<\/p>\n<p>                                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/wos-nina.jpg\" class=\"mx-auto align-none\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                                                                                                            <strong>Nina Garling-Rai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BHS junior Nina Garling-Rai read \u201cIn the Freud Archives\u201d<strong> <\/strong>by Janet Malcolm, a nonfiction psychoanalysis based on psychologist Sigmund Freud\u2019s writing collection. \u201cI liked that it wasn\u2019t actually Freud\u2019s writing, because Freud\u2019s writing is really difficult to understand, and it was kind of more in a story context than\u00a0 paper context. It was fun to read, which I didn\u2019t think it was going to be fun to read about,\u201d Garling-Rai said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/wos-09.jpg\" class=\"mx-auto align-none\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                                                                                                            <strong>Sterling Murphy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BHS freshman Sterling Murphy read \u201cBeautiful Creatures\u201d by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. \u201cBeautiful Creatures\u201d is the first of four novels about a young man, Ethan, that falls for a young woman named Lena with supernatural powers. The series follows the story of their paranormal adventures as they tackle family legacies, prejudices, and curses. \u201cIt\u2019s a really good fiction book. I liked how it was written, and it was a long series,\u201d Murphy said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/wos-greyson.jpg\" class=\"mx-auto align-none\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                                                                                                            <strong>Greyson Grubb Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BHS junior Greyson Grubb Smith read \u201cWhere Men Win Glory\u201d<strong> <\/strong>by Jon Krakauer this summer. \u201cWhere Men Win Glory\u201d is a biography of football player Pat Tillman describing how after 9\/11, he left his career as a professional athlete to join the U.S. Army and fight in Afghanistan. \u201cIt was really inspiring, and it was really cool. It was like an investigation of what happened,\u201d Grubb Smith said.<\/p>\n<p>                                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/wos-06.jpg\" class=\"mx-auto align-none\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                                                                                                            <strong>Kaelo Hickman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kaelo Hickman, a BHS junior, read\u00a0 \u201cNeverwhere\u201d<strong> <\/strong>by Neil Gaiman this summer. \u201cNeverwhere\u201d is a novel about an ordinary Scottish businessman who has an unorthodox encounter with a mysterious girl and gets sent down a dark and fantastical spiral. \u201cI liked that it was very spooky and very otherworldly, and I think it had nice world building.
