{"id":36703,"date":"2025-04-20T22:16:11","date_gmt":"2025-04-20T22:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/36703\/"},"modified":"2025-04-20T22:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-04-20T22:16:11","slug":"tsunoda-gasly-claim-they-could-do-nothing-more-in-saudi-f1-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/36703\/","title":{"rendered":"Tsunoda-Gasly claim they could do nothing more in Saudi F1 clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/yuki-tsunoda\/841444\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yuki Tsunoda<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/pierre-gasly\/840483\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pierre Gasly<\/a> have both refused to accept the blame for causing a race-ending crash for each driver in the 2025 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda\u2019s Red Bull made contact with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/alpine\/39174\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alpine<\/a> of Gasly at Turn 4 on the opening lap of the race.<\/p>\n<p>It was one of a series of exciting manoeuvres on lap one, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/f1\/news\/f1-saudi-arabian-gp-piastri-wins-to-take-title-lead-as-verstappen-gets-penalty\/10715452\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with race winner Oscar Piastri tangling with Max Verstappen at the front, earning the Dutchman a five-second time penalty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But it was the other Red Bull of Tsunoda that banged wheels with Gasly before both were sent spinning into the barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda said: \u201cIt&#8217;s hard to blame either me or Pierre. You could say there was space but from my point of view I had no space and I tried to slow down to avoid it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Gasly, who was seventh last time out in Bahrain in a positive result for the Frenchman, said he was also not to blame.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThere&#8217;s no need to say too much about it. I know him. It was never intentional but on my side, I had a good line coming into Turn 4, I could brake quite late and try and leave as much space as I could on the outside of Turn 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I already have the car pass the white line.
