Lei-Ldn \u2b50\u2b50\u2b50\u2b50<\/p>\n

It was a bit of a surprise for the whole audience in Pleasance Green to be up on their feet learning how to Candy (a dance!) by the end of the show \u2013 but by then they were all completely under the spell of Na Keisha Pebody.<\/p>\n

The members of the packed crowd were actually trying their best to impress her, or her character Chardaye, who had rapped, sung and danced her way through the previous hour of non-stop entertainment.<\/p>\n

The End is Near \u2b50\u2b50\u2b50\u2b50<\/p>\n

In Edinburgh it\u2019s 1661: Janet is accused of witchcraft. In London it\u2019s 1911 and Caroline has been arrested for her suffragette activities. It\u2019s 2028 in the USA and Lauren has been detained for having an abortion.<\/p>\n

Melissa Ainsworth\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0new play\u00a0The End is Near<\/strong>\u00a0looks at society\u2019s centuries\u2019 old determination to control women. As the rights gained through past suffering and protest are increasingly threatened and eroded, Ainsworth\u2019s powerful writing shakes us awake and reminds us that the time to act is now.<\/p>\n

Thanyia Sharpe<\/p>\n

Rosemary Kaye wrote: \u201cI usually avoid comedy shows like the plague. I rarely get the jokes and I live in fear of being picked on by a scary comedian. I once went to see a stand up with my husband, and it was all he could do to stop me leaving at half time. I spent the entire show slid down in my seat, eyes fixed floorwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when I say I have just been to\u00a0Thanyia Moore:\u00a0August,<\/strong>\u00a0and loved every single minute of it, I think that tells you almost all you need to know. This woman is searingly funny, but she\u2019s also warm, empathetic and a brilliant storyteller. You leave feeling that you not only know this lovely person, you\u2019d really like to keep chatting with her all night. She\u2019s smart and sharp, but she\u2019 s not scary, not even to a total wimp like me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rob Auton:CAN (An Hour Long Story)<\/p>\n

Rob Auton began as a Fringe performer in 2012, playing to small but appreciative audiences on the Free Fringe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was clear at those early performances that he had great potential. His growth as a performer was very evident in his performance of\u00a0CAN (An Hour-Long Story<\/a>).<\/p>\n
