The Etihad club have spent big this summer with Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Sverre Nypan and James Trafford all moving to the Etihad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a> have also spent around \u00a3300m on transfers, with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Florian Wirtz joining in a deal that could cost \u00a3116m<\/a> and H<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">ugo Ekitike also making the move<\/a> to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/anfield\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Anfield<\/a> for a fee that could reach \u00a379m. And yeah, apparently it\u2019s not just Man City, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">When asked if the increased spend at other clubs gave him a feeling of vindication over criticism his own club has faced, Guardiola said, \u201cAbsolutely not! I know they do it to us [criticise Manchester City\u2019s spending], but I will not be in that game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cEveryone does what they believe is the best for the team, and I know our net spend in 10 or 11 years is amazing \u2013 just take a look. I know it\u2019s just, \u2018Spend! Spend!\u2019 No, the question is if you spend, it\u2019s because you sell. Otherwise you cannot spend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cSo we have been really good in that term, just take a look if you are interested, it has been really good. That\u2019s why we have been sustainable, and of course there are rules that we have to defend and protect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Before he continued: \u201cAnd if this season we spend more for the reason of injuries, the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">World Cup<\/a>, but in the previous season we didn\u2019t spend almost few, few, few because we had a team that was the Champions and was stable, and the reason why it happened was because we had a lot of injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cBut every club does what they want! We spend a lot, right. And net spend is fantastic. And we won. This business is the fact if you win, right?
