An Edinburgh Fringe<\/a> show which explores life as a trans woman has won a prestigious award at the famous festival.<\/p>\n Sam Nicoresti’s show Baby Doomer scooped the Taffner Family Best Comedy Show prize at the Edinburgh Comedy<\/a> Awards.<\/p>\n The hour-long performance<\/a> has been described as a \u201cglistening new stand-up show\u201d from \u201cburgeoning trans icon Sam Nicoresti\u201d.<\/p>\n Also honoured<\/a> was Ayoade Bamgboye, who received the Best Newcomer award for her debut show, Swings and Roundabouts.<\/p>\n Described as the most prestigious prizes<\/a> in the world of comedy, the awards have been running since 1981.<\/p>\n Nica Burns, director of the Edinburgh<\/a> Comedy Awards, said: \u201cOur 2025 winners capture the spirit of comedy right now: bold, brilliant, and deeply connected to audiences.<\/p>\n \u201cIn very different ways, they\u2019ve each created shows that feel utterly of this moment, sparking laughter while saying something lasting.<\/p>\n \u201cTogether, they remind us why the Fringe matters, a place where the freshest voices can shine.
