Manchester Utd are seeking a \u00a350,000-a-year \u201cminder\u201d to look after<\/a> their players.<\/p>\n

The role will be based at the club\u2019s Carrington training ground. The successful job applicant will also look after the first team squad<\/a> at games at Old Trafford. They will also act as head of security for away games in this country.<\/p>\n

The job advert says they will also work at European fixtures. But after their dismal season last year – finishing 15th – they didn\u2019t qualify for Champions League<\/a>, Europa League or Conference League. Applicants will be expected to \u201cremain alert to current threats\u201d and \u201cprovide physical protection\u201d for \u201cdesignated principals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roles will also include \u201croute reconnaissance\u201d and \u201cvenue assessments.\u201d Job hopefuls also need to have a SIA Close Protection License.<\/p>\n

Required attributes include being \u201cphysically fit and able to respond quickly to dynamic situations.\u201d And having a \u201cpolice or military advanced driving qualification\u201d is preferred.<\/p>\n

There is no salary given for the Close Protection Officer Team Leader job. But similar roles in the area pay from \u00a350,000 to \u00a3100,000 or even more for high profile figures.<\/p>\n

The Man United squad is estimated to be worth \u00a3750m. They include new summer signings \u00a373m Benjamin Sesko and \u00a362m Matheus Cunha.<\/p>\n

Other top stars include captain Bruno Fernandes – \u00a345m – and England\u2019s \u00a310m defender Luke Shaw.<\/p>\n

About the role, the job advert reads: \u201cTo ensure the personal safety and security of Manchester United<\/a> \u2019s high-profile individuals including players, executives, and guests, both on and off-site.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe role requires the delivery of professional, discreet, and effective close protection in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment, in alignment with the club\u2019s values and brand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The key responsibilities state: \u201cTo manage and deliver the Club\u2019s Team Protection Program.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlan and deliver the security and protection operation for a pre-season tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cProvide physical protection and risk mitigation for designated principals, including travel planning, route reconnaissance, and venue assessments.<\/p>\n

\u201cConduct dynamic risk assessments and maintain situational awareness in real-time.<\/p>\n

\u201cCollaborate with club security, venue staff, law enforcement, and external agencies to ensure seamless protection operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaintain confidentiality and discretion at all times, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.<\/p>\n

It adds: \u201cSupport the safety and security team with event security and operational planning at Old Trafford, Carrington and during away fixtures.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemain alert to current threats, intelligence reports, and social media activity relevant to the protection of assigned individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Essential qualifications and experience include: \u201cSIA Close Protection License, enhanced DBS.<\/p>\n

\u201cProven experience in close protection roles, preferably within high-profile or sports environments. Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Desirable attributes include: \u201cknowledge of football, police or military advanced driving qualification.\u201d<\/p>\n
