{"id":368211,"date":"2025-08-23T21:54:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-23T21:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/368211\/"},"modified":"2025-08-23T21:54:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-23T21:54:14","slug":"cerebral-palsy-european-championship-football-final-england-beaten-by-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/368211\/","title":{"rendered":"Cerebral Palsy European Championship football final: England beaten by Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">The England cerebral palsy team were beaten  3-1 by Ukraine in the European Championship final.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">England had hoped to avenge their 3-0 loss to Ukraine in the final two years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">And after going a goal down in Loughborough, a Harry Baker header put the Para Lions level in the 16th minute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But the defending champions scored twice in the second half to successfully defend their title.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Last year, England <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/articles\/c14ly63y0plo\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">came fifth<\/a> in the Cerebral Palsy World Cup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">CP football is played with seven players on each side and smaller goals.
