Birmingham City are not done in the transfer market, despite their tenth signing of a mouthwatering summer before this afternoon\u2019s victory over Oxford United.<\/p>\n
Blues <\/a>won for the third match in a row and thanks to Paik Seung-ho\u2019s first half goal have now taken seven points form their first three Championship games.<\/a><\/p>\n In the build up to today\u2019s match Blues confirmed the arrival of Lewis Koumas on loan from Liverpool for the season and paraded the 19-year-old on the pitch a quarter of an hour before kick-off.<\/p>\n Koumas joins fellow loan players James Beadle, Eiran Cashin and Tommy Doyle in Davies\u2019 squad and the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi<\/a>, Phil Neumann, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Demarai Gray, Marvin Ducksch and Kanya Fujimoto who have arrived on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n However, Davies admitted afterwards the club aren\u2019t done yet with just over a week left before the deadline.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we’re still looking to try to finish the squad off. To do that we still need a couple definitely \u2013 and that’s a work in progress,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cAs always like most clubs, it’s a moving situation and we just have to be ready to to do what we need to do.\u201d<\/p>\n Reinforcement at left back is an obvious area of need, and the departure of Krystian Bielik<\/a> has left Davies with three central defenders.<\/p>\n Koumas comes in to bolster his attacking options and the manager is delighted to have pulled of something of a coup for a player linked with the likes of Wrexham and Sheffield United.<\/p>\n \u201cLewis is obviously coming from a great club, a great education development he’s had there,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cHe’s had a loan now, obviously his first loan at Stoke, he\u2019s coped well with the Championship last season, played a lot of games.<\/p>\n \u201cHe’s a winger, can play across the front, left, right and can play in the middle as well. He\u2019s direct, technically good, he’s got a sense of goal and I love the intensity he plays with, he’s not a lad that sort of waits and things to happen.<\/p>\n \u201cHe tries to make things happen, so he’ll make runs, he’ll press and give you a lot of that work without the ball as well.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I’m really pleased to have him, with us now because I think there was a lot of competition to try and attract him. He’s obviously been involved in preseason at Liverpool, but I’m really pleased that he chose to join us.\u201d<\/p>\n Which areas would you like to see strengthened?
