Fulham’s rising starlet Josh King admires Manchester United’s summer transfer business – but he’s hoping it will work against them today. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, born in 2007, is like a new signing for Marco Silva given the Cottagers have spent just \u00a3500k this window on a backup goalkeeper in Benjamin Lecomte. Meanwhile, United have splashed around \u00a3196.5million on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Diego Leon. However, King is hopeful United’s new arrivals are still settling into their new surroundings, explaining: “They’ve bought quite well, some big players, big names and it will be a really nice test for us. “It’s probably a good time to play against them. As a team, we’ve gelled quite well, obviously the team has stayed quite similar over the past one, two, three seasons. “That might help us out when it comes to them, because they may not have gelled as well as we have. It’ll be a good test, I definitely think we’ll pull through.”<\/p>\n

Talented teen King was overjoyed to learn he would be starting at the Amex and he’s almost certain to keep his spot against United.<\/p>\n He continued: “When I found out I was starting, I was buzzing to be honest, I was really over the moon. I called my family – it was nice! The manager has put a lot of trust in me, I feel like I can play with freedom knowing that I’ve got his confidence behind me.<\/p>\n “It’s quite a nice feeling to be able to just go out and express myself on the pitch. I definitely enjoyed it, it was a good matchup against [Carlos] Baleba. He’s a good player, it was a good challenge.”<\/p>\n England U19 international King, who made his Premier League<\/a> debut against Brighton last December, signed a bumper four-year contract extension earlier this summer.<\/p>\n He is relishing the chance to learn from Silva and a string of experienced team-mates. King concluded: “There’s some really top players who I’m training with everyday, who I’m still trying to learn from and develop.<\/p>\n “People like Emile [Smith Rowe] and Andreas [Pereira], it’s a really nice challenge to have.
