{"id":369925,"date":"2025-08-24T14:28:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T14:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/369925\/"},"modified":"2025-08-24T14:28:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T14:28:14","slug":"police-issue-36-hour-dispersal-order-on-alderley-edge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/369925\/","title":{"rendered":"Police issue 36 hour dispersal order on Alderley Edge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;Anti-social behaviour and anti-social use of vehicles will not be tolerated&#8217;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_DB_MEN_010621Cars_03jpeg.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Alderley Edge has become a hotspot for car meets(Image: @supercarsinmanchester)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police have placed a 36 hour dispersal order on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/alderley-edge\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Alderley Edge<\/a> and parts of the A34 amid social media reports of a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/fresh-warnings-over-car-meets-31893695\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">planned Bank Holiday car meet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A number of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/started-quietly-hell-broke-loose-31316763\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">illegal car meets<\/a> have been held in the upmarket village and nearby <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/wilmslow\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Wilmslow<\/a> in recent weeks, despite a police crackdown. Hundreds of people have been known attend the events featuring high-end, high powered cars being driven through some of Cheshire most affluent areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But it&#8217;s led to safety concerns and complaints from residents because of the noise of revving engines and parking, with cars mounted pavements, roundabouts and grass verges. Now Cheshire Police have been granted a dispersal order from 10am today until 10pm tomorrow (Bank Holiday Monday), following reports a car meet had been arranged for this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It covers the centre of Alderley Edge and a stretch of the A34 to the north of the village and gives police the power to remove anyone suspected of committing crime or anti-social behaviour from the area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_car-meet-dispersal-1.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The area covered by the dispersal order<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Chief Insp Zoe Bowden said: &#8220;I understand the frustration and anger that illegal car meets cause, and I hope that this dispersal order will provide reassurance to local residents by demonstrating that we are taking action. This is an ongoing problem in the local area, and I want to reassure residents that we are committed doing all we can to tackle the issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;We have a zero-tolerance approach to those who break the law, and I want to make it clear that action will be taken against anyone who breaches the dispersal order this weekend.
