For years, rumors swirled about the rift between the royal family and the Sussexes<\/a>, Harry and Meghan<\/a>, who\u2019ve built a life far from the palaces and an ocean from the London fog. But if recent whispers are to be believed, change could be on the horizon. Despite past drama, optimism is growing that the Duke and Duchess, along with Archie and Lilibet, may find themselves welcomed back to the UK, not with suspicion, but with open arms.<\/p>\n

Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital<\/a> that, despite lingering mistrust, there remains a path forward. \u201cI believe it to be totally correct that members of the royal family do not trust Meghan. And of course, she does not trust some members of the royal family in return\u2026 Also, if every member of the royal family doesn\u2019t trust Meghan, then why did King Charles instigate a meeting with his senior advisor and that of Harry and Meghan\u2019s team? Is it all the royal family or is it perhaps William?\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Turner expressed optimism about the future. \u201cI hope that Harry<\/a> and Meghan are warmly welcomed back to Britain with their children,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Echoing that sentiment, royal expert Ingrid Seward noted that time could prove to be a healer. \u201cI feel that [this] won\u2019t go on forever. I just feel that at some stage\u2026 they will begin to come together.\u201d However, she admitted that supporters of the monarchy \u201cdislike intensely\u201d Meghan.<\/p>\n

The discussion around reconciliation comes as Harry is expected to return to the UK in September to support WellChild, a charity that helps children with life-limiting conditions, according to PEOPLE!<\/a> magazine. While it remains uncertain whether he will reunite with his father during the trip, speculation about the family\u2019s long-term ties to Britain has only grown louder.<\/p>\n

One potential pull factor for them might be the children\u2019s education. Reports suggest that Archie and Lilibet could one day swap their American schooling for a more traditional British upbringing<\/a>. Former royal butler Grant Harrold told Style Caster that Harry might be \u201cquite keen\u201d on the idea of his children experiencing the same education system he grew up with. \u201cIt\u2019s very likely and it\u2019s completely possible because if they have their younger education in America, I\u2019m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,\u201d Harrold explained. \u201cBut then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, the Sussexes\u2019 future in Britain isn\u2019t without hurdles. In ITV\u2019s documentary Tabloids on Trial, as reported by Tatler<\/a>, Harry admitted that security remains his greatest concern<\/a>. \u201cThey are genuine concerns for me\u2026 It’s one of the reasons why I won\u2019t bring my wife back to this country,\u201d he said. A source close to the prince echoed this to Us Weekly<\/a>, noting, \u201cHe\u2019ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority.
