Manchester United and Fulham fans will promote the ‘#StopExploitingLoyalty’ campaign together on Sunday.<\/p>\n
United’s clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. The game is due to kick off at 4.30pm and fans were given short notice to sort travel arrangements.<\/p>\n
The Football Supporters’ Association have called for the Premier League to adopt a 12-week notice period for fixture rearrangements, and to provide ‘football special’ trains to accommodate matchgoing supporters.<\/p>\n
The Manchester United<\/a> Supporters’ Trust and the Fulham Supporters\u2019 Trust will join forces before Sunday’s game at Craven Cottage to promote the ‘#StopExploitingLoyalty’ campaign.<\/p>\n The chief executive of the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust, Duncan Drasdo, said: \u201cAcross English football fans face the same threats from club\u2019s seeking to exploit their loyalty as the game becomes more and more commercialised and driven by money.<\/p>\n “We are proud to stand alongside our friends at Fulham to say enough is enough. Stop Exploiting Loyalty and start recognising that the fans are an intrinsic part of the Premier League<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The chair of the Fulham Supporters\u2019 Trust said: \u201cFulham fans have supported the FSA\u2019s Stop Exploiting Loyalty Campaign since its inception and we are proud to continue to stand up for the rights of matchgoing fans, especially as they are likely to be inconvenienced by the broadcasters as supporters will be on Sunday. It is time for the fans voices to be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n The ‘#StopExploitingLoyalty’ banner was unfurled at Old Trafford<\/a> last season after United decided to raise matchday ticket prices to \u00a366 per game in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sir Jim Ratcliffe added fuel to the fire in his interview with the United We Stand magazine, saying that “it doesn’t make sense” for a United ticket to cost less than a ticket to watch London club Fulham.<\/p>\n Ratcliffe was subsequently confronted by angry fans as he sat in his car outside Craven Cottage in January.<\/p>\n “66 quid, you’re taking the p***. You’re worse than the Glazers, sort it out,” a fan said.<\/p>\n Another fan said during the heated exchange: “66 f****** quid, mate. What are you doing, mate? We’re northerners, come on, mate.
