{"id":370391,"date":"2025-08-24T18:41:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T18:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/370391\/"},"modified":"2025-08-24T18:41:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T18:41:10","slug":"mod-sets-out-900m-framework-for-ai-decision-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/370391\/","title":{"rendered":"MOD sets out \u00a3900m framework for AI decision tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        The Ministry of Defence has issued an addendum notice for its Digital Decision Accelerators for Defence (DDAD) Open Framework, a procurement plan worth up to \u00a3900 million over four years.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notice, \u201cthe Ministry of Defence (MOD) is launching a procurement for a new Defence and Security Open Framework specially designed to encourage the development, and accelerants of, advanced digital \u2018Decision\u2019 capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The framework is described as a scheme of \u201csuccessive frameworks\u201d that can be reopened periodically for new suppliers, unlike traditional closed models. It will act as the main delivery mechanism for ASGARD, the British Army\u2019s flagship Transformative Capability Initiative, linked to the Chief of the General Staff\u2019s Growth Through Transformation strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The MOD said the framework \u201cwill focus on the \u2018Decide\u2019 element of the target acquisition cycle (Sense-Decide-Effect); supporting ASGARD\u2019s goal of reinventing, and transforming, how land forces deliver operational decision-support and decision-making software via the use of modern Artificial Intelligence \/ Machine Learning (AI\/ML) technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The framework is structured into five lots, each valued at \u00a3180 million:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data Integration \u2013 trusted datasets for critical operations.<\/li>\n<li>Accelerators \u2013 tools to cut \u201ctime-to-insight\u201d with AI\/ML models.<\/li>\n<li>Applications \u2013 rapid development of secure, scalable software.<\/li>\n<li>Edge Storage and Compute \u2013 real-time processing in distributed environments.<\/li>\n<li>Services \u2013 training, consulting, proof-of-concept development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The notice stresses that the lots will be \u201csuitable for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to bid for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The MOD set out award criteria including \u201crelevant experience and contract examples,\u201d \u201cproduct authenticity and maturity,\u201d and commitments to collaboration, scalability, the Land Industrial Strategy, and R&amp;D.<\/p>\n<p>The framework is scheduled to run from November 2025 to November 2029, with possible extensions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Ministry of Defence has issued an addendum notice for its Digital Decision Accelerators for Defence (DDAD) Open&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":52698,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3163],"tags":[323,1942,53,16,15],"class_list":{"0":"post-370391","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-artificial-intelligence","8":"tag-ai","9":"tag-artificial-intelligence","10":"tag-technology","11":"tag-uk","12":"tag-united-kingdom"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/115085212507074167","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/370391","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=370391"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/370391\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/52698"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=370391"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=370391"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=370391"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
