{"id":370442,"date":"2025-08-24T19:13:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T19:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/370442\/"},"modified":"2025-08-24T19:13:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T19:13:16","slug":"glasgows-braehead-has-strong-year-as-sales-and-footfall-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/370442\/","title":{"rendered":"Glasgow&#8217;s Braehead has strong year as sales and footfall rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                                    <b>Published<\/b><br \/>\n                                    <\/p>\n<p>                                        August 24, 2025<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-content col-md-8 offset-md-1\">\n                                Scotland\u2019s Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow \u201cis going from strength to strength, headlining outstanding sales and footfall growth for the year to date\u201d, according to operator SGS UK Retail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"news-image\" style=\"width:100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/d6bf.png\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> Braehead Ambition<\/p>\n<p>The success story is underpinned by not only retail space demand, with the centre having signed a series of major new lettings and reinvestments this year, but SGS has also implemented a rebrand and new consumer marketing campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Another positive feature has been the launch of Braehead Ambition, an operating partnership with Braehead <a class=\"fnwAddLinks\" href=\"https:\/\/ww.fashionnetwork.com\/tags-arena\" title=\"Arena\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arena<\/a> and the neighbouring XSite leisure destination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-md-8 offset-md-1 article-content--texte\">\u201cThe combination of successes further cementing Braehead\u2019s position as Scotland\u2019s number one retail and leisure destination\u201d it said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That means Braehead has attracted a record number of visitors in the year ending June, reflected in a year-on-year increase in footfall and spend by 4% and 3%, respectively, \u201coutperforming regional and industry benchmark figures\u201d, it said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, its tenants have also committed to investing \u00a310 million in their stores over the course of 2025 so far, \u201cdriven by demand from both new entrants and reinvestment from existing brands\u201d, with 16 tenants renewing or extending leases so far in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Recent signings include beauty retailer BPerfect, which joins the centre\u2019s growing line-up with a 928 sq ft unit.\u00a0This comes after the recent investment announcement from <a class=\"fnwAddLinks\" href=\"https:\/\/ww.fashionnetwork.com\/tags-jd-sports\" title=\"JD Sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JD Sports<\/a>, which is upsizing to create an 18,000 sq ft flagship.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Huw Kmiot, associate director of Asset Management at Pradera Lateral, said: \u201c2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Braehead.
