\n Kenoteq, based at West Fortune Farm, near Drem, manufactures K-BRIQ \u2013 low-carbon bricks made from recycled construction waste that contain 95 per cent less embodied carbon than traditional clay alternatives.\n<\/p>\n
\n Paul McLennan, MSP for East Lothian, recently visited the company\u2019s manufacturing facility, where he met with CEO Andrew Holt and head of business development Lucy Black.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr McLennan said: “It was fantastic to get out to Kenoteq’s manufacturing site to learn just how this world-leading product is made.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Andrew and Lucy explained the problem they hope to solve with incredible insight and urgency.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Landfill sites are full of demolition and construction waste, and natural resources are running out.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Kenoteq has the solution: low-carbon and near-100-per-cent recycled building materials.”\n<\/p>\n
\n He said that sustainable building products were essential for achieving net zero in the built environment.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr McLennan said: “Kenoteq’s mission is bold and ambitious, and is a real demonstration of the talent and innovation in environmental science emerging from Scotland.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I’m pleased the K-BRIQ recently received certification from the British Board of Agr\u00e9ment.\n<\/p>\n
