The individual, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is also facing questioning over claims involving &#8220;non-consensual intimate image abuse&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/bbc\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> has reportedly confirmed that a police investigation remains ongoing. However, sources close to the broadcasters maintain that the accusations do not concern anyone involved in this year&#8217;s programme, meaning that they remain confident the dance competition, including rehearsal sessions, can proceed as normal. A <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/bbc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> insider revealed there is nothing to indicate the allegation relates to the current Strictly production. They confirmed: &#8220;We think <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Strictly 2025 launch date &#039;leaked&#039; as first celebrity contestant announced\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/showbiz\/tv-radio\/2093632\/strictly-2025-launch-date-leaked\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the new series<\/a> will continue as normal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The fresh Met Police probe comes after a <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/bbc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a>-led investigation into allegations of drug misuse by programme personalities, reports <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tv\/tv-news\/bbc-deliver-verdict-future-show-35786143\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\">the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A Met spokesperson confirmed: &#8220;On Friday, August 22, <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Strictly Come Dancing &#039;calls in police&#039; in fresh scandal ahead of show launch\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/celebrity-news\/2096386\/strictly-come-dancing-police-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">officers arrested a man<\/a> on suspicion of rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We urge anyone with any information to come forward to us. The arrest follows a third-party \u00adallegation of sexual and drug-related offences.&#8221; The alleged victim is receiving support from specialist officers.<\/p>\n<p>The arrest comes a year after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/bbc\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> newsreader Huw Edwards avoided a custodial sentence for possessing \u00adindecent images of children.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/bbc\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> representative told the press: &#8220;It would not be appropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Last year, dancer Giovanni Pernice also left the show after allegations of bullying his 2023 partner, Amanda Abbington. While some complaints against him were upheld, he was cleared of the most serious accusations.<\/p>\n<p>Dancer Graziano Di Prima was also dismissed following allegations of misconduct towards his partner, Zara McDermott.
