Kendall\/BristolLive)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A woman has been released from police custody after being arrested during an anti-migrant protest in the city yesterday, Saturday, August 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Avon and Somerset Police confirmed <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/woman-arrested-during-anti-migrant-10449583\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a 37-year-old woman was arrested <\/a>during the demonstrations in Bristol on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Today, Sunday, August 24, a spokesperson for the force confirmed a woman has been released under investigation following the protests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/anti-migrant-protest-bristol-everything-10449728\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">BristolLive reported<\/a> that no officer suffered serious physical injuries or was required to go to hospital following the protest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A number of other people were detained during the protests, but were de-arrested the same day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A group of anti-immigration protesters gathered at Castle Park and were <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/live-bristol-protest-updates-police-10448923\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">faced with hordes of counter protesters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police officers formed a human wall, blocking off a key road, and both groups were singing and chanting throughout the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At the time of the protests, Chief Inspector Keith Smith said: \u201cOur priority today has been to enable lawful peaceful protest for both groups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cOur officers have dealt admirably with a really challenging situation and I\u2019d like to take the opportunity to thank them for their professionalism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWhile there were moments of disturbance, we\u2019re pleased to say the two protests have passed without significant incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police officers were stood down yesterday around 5pm (August 23).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A dispersal order, which gave officers additional power to move people causing a disturbance, was in place until 7am today (August
