Liverpool will be looking to make it back-to-back wins to kick off their Premier League title defence against Newcastle United on Monday. However, they’re expected to walk into a bear pit on Monday when they travel to St James’ Park with Alexander Isak’s bitter transfer saga making up the backdrop to the encounter.<\/p>\n
The Reds remain firmly linked with the Sweden international after seeing their \u00a3110million bid rejected by the Magpies earlier in the window.<\/a> Isak hasn’t trained with his fellow first-teamers since their pre-season trip to Austria at the beginning of July after the 25-year-old was banished to train on his own.<\/p>\n Liverpool are light in attacking areas after the sale of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez with Hugo Ekitike the only arrival in that department this summer. However, his caveat was that the Reds haven’t come this far to then step away from the deal.<\/p>\n \u201cAlexander Isak could have come out at the start of the summer, outlined his reasons for wanting to move on and said he wanted to explore a move at the same time thanking supporters and staff for their importance in his development and I think this would have been very different,” he began.<\/p>\n “The point we\u2019ve got to make is Alexander Isak since the start of the summer has not been told \u2019you’re going nowhere\u2019, they\u2019ve not blocked the move, they\u2019ve actively clearly looked to explore the conditions of sale.<\/p>\n \u201dThe club\u2019s statement on Tuesday night made reference to that. The conditions of sale were two players coming in as plausible replacements coupled with negotiating an acceptable fee with Liverpool.<\/p>\n \u201dI actually think the latter part, the negotiation with Liverpool wouldn\u2019t have been a problem at all, but as the statement said, the conditions of sale haven\u2019t been met.<\/p>\n \u201cSo Newcastle now are not going to leave themselves short by allowing Alexander Isak to go when he is as we stand here now, the only recognized striker in the building.<\/p>\n \u201dMy information now is that Alexander Isak is going nowhere.
