\n\t\t\tA SHIRLEY school has been donated stationery equipment to help it stretched budgets.<\/p>\n
Haslucks Green Junior School has been handed \u00a3250 worth of stationery, which included a number of handwriting pens, whiteboard pens, pencils and glue sticks from West Midlands housebuilder David Wilson Homes.\n<\/p>\n
Due to spiralling costs and limited budgets, the school had been forced to ask pupils to bring in their own stationery to use during lessons.<\/p>\n
And the donation from David Wilson Homes will go some way to helping reduce costs for both the school and families of the pupils.<\/p>\n
\nHelen Street, headteacher at Haslucks Green Junior School, said: \u201cIn a time when school budgets are increasingly stretched, this kind of support makes a real difference.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese resources will be put to great use across our classrooms, helping to enrich learning and ensure pupils have access to the materials they need every day.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s heartwarming to see businesses recognising the challenges schools are facing and stepping in to make a difference.<\/p>\n
\u201cContributions like this not only support learning but also help foster a sense of community and shared responsibility for our children\u2019s education.<\/p>\n

According to statistics from the IFS, total spending on education in the UK in 2023-24 had fallen by 11 per cent compared to 2010-11, with budgets falling by \u00a315billion.<\/p>\n
\nHelen Lewis, managing director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: \u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to be able to work with the local community, and we hope to be able to continue this endeavour and leave a long-lasting, positive impact on the area.<\/p>\n
