A part of Merseyside has been left without electricity following a power cut in the early hours of today. Scottish Power<\/a> said it is dealing with a power cut affecting more than 14 post codes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The power is said to have been cut at 4.21am today, Monday, August 25 in the L35 area of Prescot<\/a>. Scottish Power said it is due to a fault on the underground cable network. The electricity company said restoration is currently “taking longer than expected”.<\/p>\n

It said this is due to additional resources being needed to find and repair the fault. Power is set to be restored at around 12.45pm today. Postcodes impacted by the power cut include: L342RZ, L352UA, L352UJ, L355AF, L355AG, L355AH, L355AJ, L355AL, L355AP, L355AQ, L355AT, L355BZ, L355HE, L355HS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On its website, Scottish Power said: “We apologise for the continued interruption of power in the L35 postcode area of Prescot.<\/p>\n

“Restoration is taking longer than expected due to additional resources being required to locate and repair the fault on the underground cable network, and we now aim to have power restored by 25\/08\/2025, 12.45pm.<\/p>\n

Back in July there were several power cuts in areas such as Bromborough, Spital and Tranmere.<\/p>\n
