One of the best things about Notting Hill Carnival is the array of bold looks, colourful costumes and eye-catching hairstyles.<\/p>\n
BBC London went to meet with those working behind the scenes to bring the iconic looks.<\/p>\n
Aminata Kamara is a hairstylist working with Flagz Mas band and told us what it is like to create intricate hairstyles for Carnival.<\/p>\n
She said: “I think for Carnival, it’s all or nothing so we might throw it all in there.<\/p>\n
“When it comes to hair and Carnival, especially black culture, it’s a big part of the narrative – and we don’t mess around when it comes to our hair.”<\/p>\n
