When in 2007 Lithuania\u2019s then-Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Vygaudas U\u0161ackas, organized the very first\u00a0Ambassador\u2019s Cup\u00a0golf tournament, few could have imagined that nearly twenty years later this event would grow into one of the most anticipated sporting occasions for the Lithuanian community in Great Britain. Today, it has become a distinguished international golf and tennis tournament, bringing together professionals, amateurs, and representatives of business, culture, and diplomacy from across different countries.
\n \n<\/p>\n

The Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom (LCCUK), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the UK, invites guests on\u00a026 September 2025\u00a0to the traditional and prestigious\u00a0Ambassador\u2019s Cup Golf and Tennis Tournament and Gala Evening.
\n \n<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s tournament and evening program will take place at the magnificent\u00a0Moor Park Golf Club\u00a0in Hertfordshire. The club\u2019s historic mansion and gardens are listed as part of England\u2019s cultural heritage. The golf courses were designed by the renowned architect Harry S. Colt, and since 1923 the club has drawn players from all over the world.
\n \n<\/p>\n

The tournament will be joined by its founder and LCCUK initiator\u00a0Vygaudas U\u0161ackas, who this year will himself take to the golf course. Meanwhile, the tennis program will welcome\u00a0former professional basketball player, philanthropist, and founder of the Rimantas Kauk\u0117nas Charity Foundation, Rimantas Kauk\u0117nas.

About the Program<\/strong>
\n \n<\/p>\n

The golf tournament is open to professional players and those who have already mastered the game well. Tennis, however, is open to everyone – even those who have never before held a racket. Beginners will be offered lessons with a professional coach.
\n \n<\/p>\n

The day will begin with sporting competitions: experienced players will compete on the championship courses at Moor Park, while tennis enthusiasts can either take part in the tournament or join special training sessions led by a professional instructor.
\n \n<\/p>\n

To host this golf and tennis tournament in such a wonderful historic place as Moor Park is a perfect opportunity to connect more closely with members of the Chamber of Commerce, the business community, and other like-minded people,\u201d \u2013 says Ambassador\u00a0Asta Radikait\u0117. \u2013 \u201cThis event is a special example of how sport becomes a bridge of unity and friendship, linking different generations and experiences.\u201d

In the evening, guests will gather for a\u00a0gala awards dinner, hosted by one of Lithuania\u2019s most charismatic actors,\u00a0Eimutis Kvo\u0161\u010diauskas. The evening will feature live music, with performances by\u00a0Ellie Marcinkevi\u010dien\u0117, a professional vocalist, violinist, and pianist. The highlight of the celebration will be the awarding of tournament winners, after which the evening will continue with music and informal networking until midnight.

The History of the Ambassador\u2019s Cup<\/strong>

The inaugural\u00a0Ambassador\u2019s Cup\u00a0golf tournament was held in 2007 at Brampton Park Golf Club in Cambridgeshire. The idea came from then-Lithuanian Ambassador to the UK\u00a0Vygaudas U\u0161ackas, who wished to make golf – so popular in England – a focal point for the Lithuanian community as well.
\n \n<\/p>\n

The first tournament saw teams from Lithuania and Great Britain compete. Lithuania was represented by top national golfers, including champion\u00a0Rolandas Gaidys\u00a0and US-certified coach\u00a0Egidijus Balei\u0161is, while the British team consisted of Brampton Park club players. Although modest in scale, the tournament quickly became a fine tradition and a solid sporting contest, with the main prize being a prestigious trophy.
\n \n<\/p>\n

Over time, the tournament expanded to include tennis. Today, the\u00a0Ambassador\u2019s Cup\u00a0unites not only sports enthusiasts but also members of the business, diplomatic, and cultural spheres. Each year it brings together Lithuanian community members, professionals living in the UK, and guests from abroad.

Moor Park \u2013 A Historic Venue<\/strong>

Moor Park Golf Club\u00a0is one of the most renowned golf clubs in the United Kingdom. In 2019, it was named\u00a0Golf Club of the Year\u00a0at the\u00a0Club Mirror Awards\u00a0and won the\u00a059 Club\u2019s Service Excellence Award.
\n \n<\/p>\n

The club boasts two championship courses designed by Harry Colt – The High\u00a0and\u00a0The West. The High Course consistently ranks among the top 100 in England and hosts such prestigious events as\u00a0The Carris Trophy,\u00a0British Open qualifying rounds, and the\u00a0Hertfordshire Bowl. Stepping through the doors of Moor Park, guests are greeted by centuries of history and grandeur. The\u00a0Great Hall, with its lofty ceilings, 18th-century fresco cycles depicting mythological and historical scenes, and glittering crystal chandeliers reflecting on polished oak floors, creates a majestic atmosphere.

Elegant arcaded corridors lead to side rooms furnished with antiques, classical paintings, and delicately framed maps recalling Britain\u2019s past. From the mansion\u2019s windows stretch sweeping views of vast parkland and meticulously maintained gardens, with symmetrical hedgerows, fountains, and flowerbeds whose design has remained unchanged for more than a century.
