Check out the footage below.<\/p>\n<p>The indie band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-announce-huge-reunion-show-for-all-point-east-2025-buy-tickets-3806881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">topped the bill at Victoria Park<\/a> last night (August 24), after first announcing the gig in October 2024 and ending their eight-year hiatus. The huge gig also coincided with the 10th anniversary of their fourth and final album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/blogs\/nme-blogs\/the-maccabees-track-by-track-guide-to-their-fearless-new-album-marks-to-prove-it-762993\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Marks To Prove It\u2019<\/a>, which was released back in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate, they brought out Jamie T for a surprise performance of the LP\u2019s title track \u2013 marking the first time they\u2019ve played it with him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/maccabees-final-gig-ever-2097541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">since their 2017 \u201cfinal\u201d gig at Alexandra Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two years prior to that, Jamie T <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-24-1224924\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also joined them during their Glastonbury 2015 set to perform the track<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He also stuck around to play his 2009 hit \u2018Sticks \u2018N\u2019 Stones\u2019 with the newly reformed band. Ahead of this gig, he brought out The Maccabees\u2018 guitarist Hugo White to perform the song during his huge 2023 Finsbury Park show, and before that, at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/jamie-t-live-at-glastonbury-2022-review-setlist-photos-3255929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Glastonbury 2022<\/a>. What a moment! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NvF73lfi7o\">pic.twitter.com\/NvF73lfi7o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steven George (@steven_george) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/steven_george\/status\/1959751648227815786?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 24, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the run-up to their All Points East gig, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/felix-white\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Felix White<\/a>\u00a0and co. also reunited for a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/the-maccabees-glastonbury-2025-review-photos-setlist-3874963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">huge show at this year\u2019s edition of Glastonbury<\/a>\u00a0and, before that,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-live-return-london-charity-gig-report-setlist-photos-3871680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">played their first gig back on June 20<\/a>\u00a0at London\u2019s The Dome for a charity gig in aid of MS Society.<\/p>\n<p>While at their South London practice space,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/the-maccabees-reunion-all-points-east-interview-3833414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the band told\u00a0NME\u00a0that it felt like \u201cno time has passed\u201d in their eight-year hiatus<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s so strange,\u201d Felix told us in January. \u201cIn the chunk [of time] from the last show, you could conceive of The Maccabees as a different existence, but as soon as we started playing, it was as if we hadn\u2019t stopped.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the possibility of new music then, he added: \u201cThe plan is to do [All Points East] and see how much we love it.\u201d Sam Doyle then chimed in, jokingly saying that they were reluctant to look too far ahead as they \u201cmight hate each other by August.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3874690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NMEAR_NME-GLASTO-2025-THE-MACCABEES-LIVE-DEREK-BREMNER-5@2000x1270.jpg\" alt=\"The Maccabees live at Glastonbury 2025, photo by Derek Bremner\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1270\"  \/>The Maccabees live at Glastonbury 2025. Credit: Derek Bremner for NME<\/p>\n<p>More recently,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-return-almost-felt-embarrassing-after-definitive-break-up-says-felix-white-3882592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Felix said that announcing the band\u2019s return \u201calmost felt embarrassing\u201d<\/a>\u00a0after their \u201cdefinitive\u201d break-up, and confirmed that they are \u201cnot writing anything at the moment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While at Glastonbury, the band spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0again about playing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-glastonbury-2025-interview-reunion-3874991\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their first show back together earlier this year<\/a>. \u201cThere was a lot of feeling in that room. It surprised me, actually, because I was finding that on stage, in a split second, I was euphoric and then I was actually crying at Tufnell Park Dome and then feeling other things,\u201d Felix said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou felt all this feeling inside your body that the action of playing the music brings out in us, and it was all happening in there and just felt amazing.<\/p>\n<p>At their Glasto set,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-glastonbury-2025-florence-welch-machine-setlist-photos-watch-3874498\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Maccabees were joined by Florence Welch<\/a>, who provided guest vocals on \u2018Love You Better\u2019 before performing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/florence-and-the-machine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florence + The Machine<\/a>\u2018s \u2018Dog Days Are Over\u2019.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/the-maccabees-glastonbury-2025-review-photos-setlist-3874963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NME\u00a0gave the performance a full five stars and praised the slot as \u201ctheir most euphoric show to date\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The band currently have no future performances lined up, but did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-maccabees-say-its-tempting-to-make-new-music-together-3884091\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently say\u00a0that they are \u201ctempted\u201d by the idea of recording new music together<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Maccabees were joined by Jamie T during their All Points East headline show.
