Manny Pacquiao has been backed for future success in the ring off the back of his comeback fight, which should have landed him another world title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snapping a four-year retirement earlier this summer, former multi-division world champion Manny Pacquiao fought Mario Barrios over the course of 12 rounds in a WBC welterweight title challenge. <\/p>\n

And failing in his bid to add yet another crown to his gleaming trophy cabinet, Pacquiao only managed a majority decision against the defending gold holder, who kept his champion status.<\/p>\n

But as far as one Roy Jones Jr.<\/a> is concerned, Pacquiao should lay claim to the welterweight crown ahead of his proposed comeback.<\/p>\n

Given his impressive showing in his return against Barrios earlier this summer, Pacquiao has been linked with a whole host of high-profile fights in his next walk to the ring.<\/p>\n

The Filipino star has been tied to a potential title charge against Rolly Romero<\/a> next, while a certain Australian prospect has offered Pacquiao the chance to fight \u2018Down Under\u2019 again<\/a> in his next outing.<\/p>\n

Playing matchmaker for Pacquiao, former light heavyweight megastar Jones Jr. believes Pacquiao \u2014 who should be world champion, can defeat a sizable list of opponents still.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think (Manny) Pacquiao did enough to win the fight and he should be the world champion right now,\u201d Jones Jr. told Ring Magazine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who are mature, as they should be at their age, and still have some youth, will beat him (Pacquiao) because he\u2019s not that age anymore,\u201d Jones Jr. continued. <\/p>\n

\u201cThose who struggle to find their identity, who they are, and where they stand, he would easily beat most of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally setting their long-standing rivalry back in 2015, Pacquiao would take on the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather<\/a> in a blockbuster super fight in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

And coming unstuck in the criticized pairing, Pacquiao lost out on the claim as the greatest fighter of his generation to Mayweather in the back-and-forth.<\/p>\n

However, as part of his ongoing feud with Mayweather<\/a>, Jones Jr. recently claimed that when it comes to career, Pacquiao easily gazumps the Michigan native\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Manny) Pacquiao fought everyone who was at his level. In my humble opinion, it\u2019s almost safe to say that Pacquiao had a better career than Mayweather had,\u201d Jones Jr. explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t make the money Mayweather made, but he fought the fights that were supposed to be fought, when it was time to fight them. He didn\u2019t wait around.\u201d<\/p>\n
