Heading to EuroBasket 2025, British Basketball announced the final roster for Great Britain on Monday.<\/p>\n

Per the press release:<\/strong> \u201cGreat Britain Head Coach Marc Steutel has named his final squad ahead of the highly anticipated FIBA EuroBasket competition.<\/p>\n

GB begin their campaign against Lithuania on Wednesday (27 August) before taking on Pool B hosts Finland.They will also compete against Sweden, current reigning world champions Germany, and Montenegro in the Tampere Deck Arena.<\/p>\n

The squad is captained by Carl Wheatle who competes in his second FIBA EuroBasket.It will also be a second showing for Patrick Whelan, while the experienced trio of Myles Hesson, Gabriel Olaseni and Luke Nelson play in their third EuroBasket tournaments.<\/p>\n

Steutel said: I\u2019m absolutely delighted to name the final 12 players for the FIBA EuroBasket roster. We\u2019ve had a really productive and competitive camp from day one with many different phases.We\u2019ve appreciated everyone who has been able to come in and commit to our cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

GB completed their preparations with a 72-62 victory over Estonia on Friday after pushing France and Slovenia right to the final whistle in previous warm-up fixtures. With the focus now on the main challenge, Steutel added:<\/p>\n

\u2018The final 12 players are really elated.It is an incredible honour to play at a major tournament and even more so in FIBA EuroBasket which is regarded as one of the best basketball tournaments in the world.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve been proud of every player and staff member who has consistently worked every day to try and be the best version of themselves and we are now excited to open up the competition against Lithuania on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u2018My emotions are a mixture of pride, excitement and privilege in being able to lead this group and I am continually blown away by the level of commitment that they all give to the jersey and the cause of GB.\u2019<\/p>\n
